 Prompt Response: One tradition that my family does is White Elephant. The rules of the game is that everyone buys a gift for someone else. Once the gifts are gathered, one person is randomly chosen to pick a present. Once they finish their turn, the next person goes. They have two options to choose from, you can steal their present or they can choose a different present.

Summary: My family has a on going tradition of playing a game called white elephant.

Reflection: I know I will have lots of fun playing this with my family and relatives.

  Prompt Response:  Quite a few times in my life, I have had to submit an assignment really close to the deadline because I totally forgot about it. Most times I would turn it in roughly 1 hour before it is due but one particular time, I turned it in just seconds before it was due. It was on a Friday night and I was out having dinner with my family, we got home pretty late after we had finished eating and I decided to call my friend to see if he wanted to play video games with me. We began to play and we were chatting about what had happened during the day. Eventually he brought up that we had to turn in some assignment that night. I had totally forgotten about it and I rushed over to my chromebook to check the time. The time was 11:58. I knew I had just seconds before it was late thankfully I turned it in on time. After reading “Out, Out—” by Robert Frost, reflect on a time when you faced a dangerous or high-pressure situation that demanded your complete focus. What made the situation risky, and how did your concentration affect the outcome?

  Prompt Response:  One time I was in a dangerous situation that required my full attention was when I was using a chainsaw to cut some big tree logs. I had to make sure that all of my thoughts were on cutting the logs safely. Thankfully my dad guided me and explained how to use and control the equipment. Summary:  I used a chainsaw to cut logs and had to use my full attention. Reflection:  I'm thankful that I used my full attention to stay safe and do the action correctly.
