Write about a time when you did something out of the norm. What was it and how did others react?

Prompt Response: When I was a little kid I used to talk differently than the people around me. I wanted to sound different. I tried to sound British because it was a cool and different accent. Others thought it was funny at first but then became sick of it. Reflection: I tried to be different but others didn't like it. Summary: I used to put on a British accent when I was younger.

Dickinson uses the metaphor of a funeral to describe her inner struggles. What metaphor would you use to describe your own mind?

Prompt Response:   I would use the metaphor of a yoyo because I would get completely lost sometimes and then come back to my senses. The yoyo is thrown and goes out and then back in. Just like the yoyo, my mind will wander away and then come back to focus. Summary: The metaphor I would use would be the yoyo being thrown. Reflection:  I don't want to lose my mind.

Write about an adventure you would like to go on.

Prompt Response:  An adventure I would like to go on is searching for all the lost people in the Bermuda Triangle. It would be cool to discover what happened to the people that were lost at sea. I would also have to try not to get lost out at sea. It would be a treacherous adventure but it would be worth it to discover how the poor sailors met their fate. Summary:  I want to adventure to the Bermuda Triangle. Reflection:  I want to help people understand how they lost their friends.

Describe something you will never fully understand.

Prompt: Something that I will never understand is why people can take their jobs so seriously sometimes. There was this one experience that I had when I went to Publix. While I was there shopping, I went to the bakery to get a Kids Club Cookie. All the times in my life that I've been to Publix, I've always gotten a cookie. But this particular time, the worker said that I had to be at most 12 years old. This made me quite annoyed because they were free cookies and it wouldn't hurt him to give one away. Summary: While I was at Publix, I tried to get a kids club cookie and was denied. Reflect: I hope that people will be chiller and not so serious about a damn cookie.

Prompt Response:  Something I wish I had more of is time in middle school. I really enjoyed the time with my friends playing basketball and football. During my time in middle school I would go to the park with my friends and play for hours. These were some of the best years of my life. Summary: I had lots of fun spending time with my middle school friends. Reflection: I hope to see my middle school friends again soon.

What is the most creative thing you have ever made? Share what it was and explain why it stands out as your best work.

Prompt Response:  The most creative thing I've ever made was a collage about world hunger. In my middle school art class, my teacher assigned us a project to create something artistic that addresses the issue of world hunger. I used different magazines from the class to create my masterpiece. I believe it is my best work because of the message that world hunger isn't good and it must be cured.  Summary:  I created a collage about world hunger in my art class. Reflection: I enjoyed creating my collage and like informing as well as enlightening people about problems on our planet.
